"TOMORROW night, Multiplies, one of the best new pop bands in Scotland, will launch their debut single with a celebratory gig in Glasgow. The band have already supported the Scissor Sisters, played at T in the Park, featured in Time magazine and won the endorsement of Franz Ferdinand. The single follows a deal with a major label, Polydor, and could be the start of an exciting new stage in their musical lives. Or it could be the start of nothing."

That celebratory gig turned out to be Multiplies' last. The band quickly exploded out of the scene, only for its fragments to become embedded in Dananananaykroyd, Errors, Remember Remember, and Bis. While the success of individual members is evident, Multiplies were a band like no other, even having to create their own genre - Fight-Pop - to describe their sound.

Frighteningly-good live, sonically-arresting in the studio, The Start Of Nothing is the band's "lost album", a series of studio recordings scattered across forgotten hard drives, gelled together in a way that might just give you a glimpse of how brilliant they actually were.
